I'm a college student who makes about $10,000 a year, if I'm lucky. Most students my age who want to travel beg there parents to pay for a trip to Cancun, take out huge loans to do a study abroad in a single country, or simply stay close to home and never see the world. Needless to say, when I tell fellow students I have travelled to over 18 different countries in the last two years without breaking the bank or begging my parents for money, they are shocked. They often ask "how did you do it?" In this article I will share the number one secret to inexpensive travel - how to find cheap plane tickets.Last year a close friend of mine and I decided to travel from Panama City to Torreon, Mexico. We wanted to see every country in Central America in six weeks and we wanted to .. more»

With the pound at an all time low against the euro. Many people are looking further away than their traditional holiday favourites such as Spain or Greece. To destinations outside the euro zone. And have decided this year to explore further afield to less expensive destinations such as Turkey, Bulgaria, and Egypt. Most holidaymakers have heard of, or know someone who has visited Marmaris in Turkey, Sharm el Sheik in Egypt or even Sunny beach in Bulgaria. But all these countries have lesser known but equally attractive resorts. What is hotel design?A discipline that takes care of the creation of a perfect ambience for the guests is widely known as hotel design. It is basically designing a place where clients touch base after tiring journeys, or a hard day's work, for which the host is paid money. Even though designing a hotel comprises of a mere 15% of the total budget, it accounts for a whopping 70%of its income. Hotel designs have come a long way from their erstwhile days, with specialized architects, builders, interior designers, contractors and suppliers pitching in their share. Today, hotel design includes building specialized buildings with the required amenities for the purpose of attracting clients, or renovating an old hotel building, or converting other structures such as palaces and forts into a hotel. But, despite there being no consensus upon the ideal hotel design, the fact remains that a good location and an .. more»
A slow start to the ski season for the New England ski resorts is difficult for those of us with high anxiety levels and that just want to get out to the slopes. It is by no means any indication of how the overall ski season will play out. In fact, there have been some great ski seasons when things were slow to get started early on.The days of bragging rights for the first to be open and the last to close are somewhat of a memory. Many seasons the resorts have to close after their initial startup because of a washout storm or unseasonably warm temperatures that prevent 24/7 snowmaking.I have done some research for trends in snowfall amounts and temperatures at the Northeastern ski areas to see if there is any correlation between seasons with a slow start and the effect of the overall conditions for the rest .. more»
